A RAINBOW OF HOPE FOR HAITI!

On Friday 5th February the whole school had a fundraising day for the Disaster Fund helping the people of Haiti.
Everyone dressed in their most colourful clothes to reflect the way the people in Haiti dress and also to show hope for the future.
We managed without electricity for the day to remind us of the situation that the Haitians are in at the moment. Some classes used candles.
All the children contributed to a prayer wall in the hall, reminding us of our school prayer that "as many hands build a house, so many hearts make a school". We built a wall of prayers to show our solidarity with Haiti.
The children also made colourful badges with slogans like "Hope 4 Haiti".
At the end of the day we all came together in the hall to sing our favourite songs and hymns, something that is good to bring people together and give hope to the community. We sang songs including "You've got a Friend", "Here I Am Lord", "What a Wonderful World" and finished with "The Community Song".

The children then stood in rainbow formation with a backdrop of coloured ballons and two golden buckets at each end of the rainbow.
The whole day allowed us to think about the people of Haiti and raise some money to help with the appeal.
It was a memorable day for us all and we raised £514!
